Introduction

The Museum of the City of Česká Třebová was established in 1888, which ranks it among the oldest museums in the region. Its fund of collections that has been put together over 120 years, comprises about 30, 000 pieces of  collection items documenting especially the history and presence of the City of  Česká Třebová. Unfortunately,

the Museum nowadays lacks its own exhibition premises, which prevents it from having a permanent exhibition. Thus the Museum presents its collections only in the form of short-term exhibitions.

Besides its common activities, i.e. the formation and administration of collections and making them available to the professional as well as general public, the Museum operates the Max Švabinský´s Cottage in Kozlov. Its exposition reminds visitors of the times when the above mentioned renowned Czech painter and graphic artist used to stay here as well as of the life stories of the Vejrych family.

The Museum staff also provide tours of the only preserved Romanesque rotunda in the Pardubice Region, the St. Catherine Rotunda in Česká Třebová, dating back to the first half of the 13th century.
